Job Title: Care and Support Specialist

We are currently recruiting for a Care and Support Specialist in the Maryport area, Cumbria.

To be successful in this role, you will require full time availability with no VISA restrictions. Having a car driver due to location would be ideal.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Foster strong relationships with service users to encourage open communication of their needs.
  • Maintain the dignity and respect of each individual, upholding their right to privacy.
  • Support the development of practical and social skills through tailored care plans.
  • Provide personal care with sensitivity and respect for individual preferences.
  • Promote self-esteem and empowerment by supporting decision-making processes.
  • Boost confidence through positive reinforcement strategies.
  • Assist with daily tasks such as shopping, meal preparation, and household chores.
  • Encourage and support self-care and independent living practices.
  • Support cultural, spiritual, and personal identity needs through inclusive care.
  • Facilitate access to social and leisure activities to promote community participation.
  • Encourage healthy lifestyle choices and empower individuals to make informed decisions.

Person Specification:

  • Demonstrable experience working within Learning Disabilities, Physical Disabilities, Dementia, Mental Health, and/or additional needs providing high quality care and support.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to listen sensitively to others.
  • Good written communication skills with the ability to contribute to record keeping systems.
  • Ability to provide sympathetic emotional and practical support to service users.

Estimated salary for this role is £28,000 - £35,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
