We are a leading organization in the railway industry, committed to transforming the sector through innovative projects. We are seeking a Commercial Manager to provide expert post-contract commercial management and support pre-contract activities for medium-value and medium-risk projects.
About the Role
As a Commercial Manager, you will be integral to managing post-contract commercial activities and supporting pre-contract efforts for medium-value and medium-risk projects. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the programme and project teams in monitoring compliance with corporate governance and rules.
- Managing cost reporting for allocated projects, including Cost Forecasting and Anticipated Final Cost.
- Monitoring and reporting on all commercial aspects of projects, proposing mitigation actions for any issues.
- Influencing decision-making from a commercial perspective and reviewing contractor delivery.
- Managing the assessment and valuation of contractor applications and payment certifications.
- Producing payment applications/invoices and managing commercial risk and claims.
- Ensuring proper retention and archiving of commercial records and undertaking final account settlements.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Demonstrable experience in commercially managing investment projects.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence contractor behavior.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to risk management.
- Significant experience in a generalist commercial environment.
