Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Medical Administrator to join our team at Sleights and Sandsend Medical Practice. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, providing exceptional support to our clinical staff and patients.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

About the Role

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people and has a passion for administration. As a Medical Administrator, you will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception and administrative duties, including:

  • Processing patient requests and appointments
  • Managing incoming and outgoing mail
  • Initiating contact with patients, team members, and external agencies
  • Processing referrals and letters

You will also be required to maintain accurate records, input data into the patients' healthcare records, and perform other administrative tasks as necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide exceptional customer service to patients, responding to their queries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner
  2. Manage the reception area, maintaining a clean and tidy environment at all times
  3. Process patient requests, including appointment bookings and cancellations
  4. Handle incoming and outgoing mail, ensuring timely delivery and processing
  5. Initiate contact with patients, team members, and external agencies, as required
  6. Process referrals and letters, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
  7. Maintain accurate records, inputting data into the patients' healthcare records as necessary
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Outlook

The estimated salary for this role is £20,000 - £25,000 per annum, depending on experience.
