Operations Manager

Job Summary: H9 Technical Recruitment is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our client's EfW plant in Bristol. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the plant's compliance with environmental regulations and permits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Excellence: Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the plant, maintaining high standards of performance and productivity.
- Team Leadership: Manage a team of circa 20 operations staff, including shift teams and operations day staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the team's success.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the plant operates within environmental regulations at all times, maintaining a strong focus on health, safety, and environmental (HSE) matters.
- Collaboration and Communication: Liaise with the Maintenance Manager and other relevant personnel to discuss projects, maintenance, outages, costing, and programming of plant improvements.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor plant efficiency and direct operations staff to optimize power station performance accordingly.
- Financial Management: Prepare the annual budget for the Operations department for review and work within this budget.
- Performance Reviews: Conduct annual performance reviews with operations staff to ensure their continued growth and development.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: Relevant engineering or technical qualification at degree/HND/HNC level.
- Health and Safety: IOSH or NEBOSH or similar certification in Health & Safety.
- Driving License: A full driving license is essential for occasional travel to other sites.
- Industry Experience: Extensive operations experience in the power generation or waste/recycling industry, including CCGT, coal, CHP, energy from waste, or biomass.
