Weekend Care Specialist in Bolsover

We are seeking experienced care assistants to cover weekend hours at a beautiful care home in Bolsover. As a Weekend Care Specialist, you will work alongside a friendly and experienced team to deliver high-quality care for up to 24 residents.
About the RoleYour primary duties will include assisting residents with their daily lives, providing personal care, and supporting their physical and mental wellbeing. You will engage in activities to promote the highest quality of life, provide company and emotional support, and undertake moving and handling duties on a regular basis.
The shift pattern includes working from 07:00 to 14:15 or 14:00 to 22:00 over weekends. Due to the location of this service, we prefer applicants who reside within the local area or have their own transport, as public transport options do not match the shift requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Assist residents with daily tasks and personal care
- Support physical and mental wellbeing
- Engage in activities promoting a high quality of life
- Provide company and emotional support
- Undertake regular moving and handling duties
Working hours are split into two shifts:
- 07:00 to 14:15 - £11.44 per hour
- 14:00 to 22:00 - £15.22 per hour
This role requires a strong level of experience with moving and handling equipment, including hoists, slings, stand aids, and rotundas.
Requirements- Minimum 12 months paid UK work experience in a care home or nursing home setting
- Hold an enhanced DBS certificate dated within the past 4 months or registered on the update service
- Hold in-date mandatory training certificates, including practical moving and handling training
- Be able to provide 2 years of professional referencing, including one from your most recent employer
- Have a full, up-to-date CV with a minimum of 5 years of employment history
We can assist with obtaining online training at a subsidised fee, and provide certificates for those who need them. Please note that due to restrictions on public transport options, having access to your own transport is recommended.
