Care Support Specialist

Job Overview:
We are seeking dedicated individuals with prior experience in professional care settings to work within our complex care packages in the west Cumbria area.
This community-based role involves working with both adults and children, promoting independence and self-sufficiency, managing behaviors and emotions, and supporting sensory needs.
Salary & Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary of £13.50 per hour (inclusive of pension and holiday pay), paid mileage, enhanced pay during bank holidays and weekends, rewards, and refer-a-friend bonus scheme up to £250.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote independence and self-sufficiency in clients
- Manage and support clients' behaviors and emotions
- Support sensory needs and provide accommodations as necessary
- Administer medication and ensure accurate record-keeping
- Support mental health and well-being initiatives
- Implement strategies to manage challenging behavior
- Prepare and serve meals for clients
- Foster social enrichment and engagement through activities and outings
- Provide education support and promote learning opportunities
- Assist with personal care tasks
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Previous experience in a professional care setting, preferably community-based
- Knowledge and experience of supporting clients with Autism, sensory impairments, challenging behavior, complex care, and mental health
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to use own judgment and make informed decisions in emergency situations
- Effective teamwork and collaboration skills
- Knowledge of professional boundaries and safeguarding policies
