Job Description

**Job Title:** Transport Debrief Specialist

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Transport Debrief Specialist to join our team. As a Transport Debrief Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our transportation services by debriefing drivers, inspecting vehicles, and managing logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Debrief drivers upon their return to the depot, ensuring they have completed their routes safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect vehicles for any damages or safety issues, reporting them to the relevant authorities.
  • Communicate with drivers regarding daily runs, addressing any issues or concerns.
  • Manage Vehicle On-Board Records (VORs), downloading vehicles and tachograph machines.
  • Liaise with our vehicle maintenance providers to ensure timely repairs and maintenance.
  • Update all transportation systems, including scanning return and outgoing items.
  • Plan collections and deliveries, ensuring timely and efficient transportation of goods.
  • Contribute to the success of the site by ensuring all POD and Return processes are carried out in accordance with site policy documents.
  • Book collections for customers and complete relevant paperwork.
  • Book deliveries for customers.
  • Investigate any collection queries.
  • Ensure all paperwork is returned for all customer deliveries dispatched from site, and chase outstanding PODs.
  • Liaise with staff at other depots and external contacts.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including photocopying, printing, organizing, and storing documents and computer-based information.
  • Monitor daily the clean POD workflow.
  • Control period-end spreadsheets.
  • Compile lists of outstanding PODs and contact hauliers to request.
  • Report PODs outstanding each day.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of transport legislation and logistics operations.
  • Able to build good relationships with people even when under pressure.
  • Challenge any vehicle issues or damages with drivers.
  • React quickly to information and be able to solve problems independently.
  • Good communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • Competent use of Microsoft, particularly Excel.
