Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Transport Debrief Specialist to join our team at Challenge-TRG Recruitment. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our transportation services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Debrief all returning vehicles to the depot, checking for any damages and safety issues
  • Communicate with drivers regarding daily runs and deal with any issues that may arise
  • Report any defects and manage Vehicle On-Return (VOR) processes
  • Download vehicles and tachograph machines, and liaise with our vehicle maintenance providers
  • Update all transportation systems and scan return and outgoing items
  • Plan collections and deliveries, and contribute to the success of the site by ensuring all POD and Return processes are carried out in accordance with site policy documents
  • Book in collections for customers and complete relevant paperwork, as well as book in deliveries for customers
  • Investigate any collection queries and ensure all paperwork is returned for all customer deliveries dispatched from site
  • Liaise with staff at other depots and external contacts, and perform photocopying, printing, organizing, and storing documents and computer-based information
  • Monitor daily the clean POD workflow, control period-end spreadsheets, and compile lists of outstanding PODs and contact hauliers to request
  • Report PODs outstanding each day

Requirements:

  • Understanding of transport legislation and logistics operations
  • Able to build good relationships with people even when under pressure
  • Challenge any vehicle issues or damages with drivers
  • React quickly to information and be able to solve problems independently
  • Good communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Competent use of Microsoft, particularly Excel
