Elvet Recruitment is working alongside a leading Civil Engineering contractor who is currently seeking a Health & Safety Manager for a major project in the North West.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable business that values its staff and works on a number of high-profile projects in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective health and safety strategies to ensure compliance with OHSAS 18001 obligations and health and safety legislation.
  • Conduct regular site audits to identify and address any health and safety issues.
  • Collaborate with the project team to develop and implement a construction phase health and safety plan.
  • Implement initiatives to improve health and safety standards and promote a culture of safety within the organization.
  • Support the business in responding to tenders and pre-qualification questionnaires, as designated by the Senior Safety Manager or Preconstruction Team.
  • Establish effective relationships with the supply chain to ensure continuous improvement in delivering safety solutions.
  • Develop and implement a schedule of weekly health and safety inspections, including operational staff, senior management, and support services.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Health & Safety Manager, with major project civils experience.
  • NEBOSH General/Construction Certificate or NVQ Level 3 in Health & Safety.
  • Degree or equivalent in Environmental Management or Sustainability or IEMA Foundation Certificate.

Remuneration:

The client is offering a salary up to £72,000 + car allowance + package for the right candidate.
