Radiological Safety Consultant

RPS Group is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Radiological Safety Consultant within our Health, Safety & Risk division. We offer flexibility in work location.

Our team of 50 professionals delivers essential radiological safety assessment services, bolstered by specialized expertise in areas such as Criticality Safety, Radiological Shielding, Human Factors, Nuclear Fire Safety, and Peer Review. This expertise is further enhanced by our expanding Fire and Process Safety section, which serves a diverse array of industries.

Due to the sensitive nature of our work, all selected candidates will be required to undergo security clearance.

Role Overview:

In the capacity of a Radiological Safety Consultant, you will engage in safety projects throughout the UK, focusing on the development of nuclear safety cases and related documentation. Key responsibilities include: Collaborating with RPS Project Managers and clients to produce effective safety documentation. Coordinating with engineering teams, plant operators, and other safety specialists, including Human Factors, Fire Safety, Criticality, Radiological Shielding, and Environmental experts, to present cohesive and comprehensive safety cases. Representing RPS Group positively to clients, prospective clients, and colleagues.

Required Skills and Experience:

A minimum of 2 years of experience in nuclear safety or related high-hazard industries. A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field such as Physics, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Control/Electrical Engineering. Exceptional customer service skills, with strong listening and interpersonal abilities. Proficient written and verbal communication skills. A flexible approach to ensure effective project delivery.
