King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK's largest and busiest teaching trusts. This post provides an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist with a clinical pharmacy background to lead and deliver high-quality clinical services to post-acute medical and stroke wards.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work across Post-Acute Medicine, which includes a broad range of specialties such as respiratory, cystic fibrosis, stroke, gastroenterology, diabetes, and elderly care. The pharmacists within Post-Acute Medicine provide extensive pharmaceutical care and medicines management services to patients within these areas.

The post holder will be responsible for participating in the multidisciplinary team delivering and promoting high-quality, cost-effective, patient-focused pharmaceutical care to patients. They will also provide interface and discharge liaison, and support wards & units within the Care Group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on the provision of clinical pharmacy services to sub-specialities within the Care Group
  • Develop, implement, and audit local guidelines
  • Assist in financial reporting to the Care Group and drug budget management
  • Ensure seamless pharmaceutical care on discharge, liaising with other pharmacists and healthcare professionals
Requirements
  • Registered Pharmacist (1 year competency assessed and examined professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council)
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent qualification/experience
  • Working towards a Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmacy Practice or Clinical Pharmacy
  • Appropriate post-registration experience in hospital pharmacy or equivalent area of practice with assessed competencies
  • Experience of practice research or audit
  • Experience of delivering training and education at postgraduate level

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including a salary of £85,000 - £100,000 per annum, depending on experience.
