Pharmacist Leadership Opportunity in Post-Acute Medicine

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacist to join our Post-Acute Medicine team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinical pharmacy professional to lead and deliver high-quality pharmaceutical services to post-acute medical and stroke wards.
About the Role
As a Band 7 Senior Pharmacist, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise to ensure seamless integrated care for patients within our Care Group. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement local guidelines, promote high-quality cost-effective patient-focused care, and participate in financial reporting and drug budget management. Additionally, you will provide interface and discharge liaison, and support wards & units within the Care Group. Your role will involve extending the boundaries of professional practice within the Care Group, working collaboratively with the Principal Pharmacist, Post-Acute Medicine.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing clinical pharmacy services to various sub-specialties within the Care Group.
- Developing, implementing, and auditing local guidelines to enhance patient care.
- Leading on the provision of high-quality, cost-effective patient-focused care to post-acute medical and stroke wards.
- Ensuring seamless pharmaceutical care on discharge, liaising with other pharmacists and healthcare professionals.
- Working towards a Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmacy Practice or Clinical Pharmacy, or equivalent qualification/experience.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A Registered Pharmacist (1 year competency assessed and examined professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council).
- Postgraduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent qualification/experience.
- Appropriate post-registration experience in hospital pharmacy or equivalent area of practice with assessed competencies.
- Experience of delivering training and education at postgraduate level.

We offer a competitive salary of £85,000 - £108,932 per annum, depending on experience, plus additional benefits including generous annual leave, pension scheme, and career development opportunities.
