**Job Description:**

Dorset Councils is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Social Worker to join our team in shaping the future of specialist kinship strategy. As a key member of our Special Guardianship Team, you will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering integrated services that support kinship carers and improve outcomes for children and young people.

This full-time position at 37 hours per week requires significant travel, and you must have a vehicle available for use as needed. You will work closely with the Leaving Care Team to ensure young people have a clear pathway to independence and their individual needs are met.

The successful candidate will possess excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality written reports and meet deadlines. A strong understanding of childcare legislation, statutory guidance, and fostering standards is essential, along with experience working with children and young people in a statutory social care environment.

In this rewarding role, you will contribute to the development of the service by identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes. You will also work directly with young people to address issues such as family conflict, emotional health, education, and behaviour, supporting them to develop life skills.

A competitive salary of £35,745 - £43,041 (dependent on experience) reflects the importance of this role in making a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children and young people.
