Job Summary
The Central London Community Health Trust is seeking a highly skilled Specialist Doctor to join our Community Child Health team. As a Specialist Doctor in Community Child Health, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to children with complex needs, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
About the Role
This is a 10 PA post for a Specialist Doctor with a special interest in Neurodevelopment/disability and Complex Care needs. The post holder will work in the Community contributing to the Neurodisability service, Complex Care and the assessment and management of children with neurodevelopmental presentation, motor disorders and/or complex needs.
Key Responsibilities
- To contribute to the provision of the Child Development Service within the Child Development Team for complex physical, neuro-disability and complex needs.
- To support the assessment and management of children with cerebral palsy and other neuro-disabilities.
- To assess and manage children with neuro-disability and complex needs in close collaboration with therapy, education, and primary care colleagues.
- To manage a caseload in designated local special needs school(s).
- To complete and review education and health care plans.
Person Specification
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Doctor who is passionate about providing high-quality medical care to children with complex needs. The ideal candidate will have:
Full GMC Registration and Licence to PractiseMRCP, MRCPCH by examination or equivalent or MRCGPRelevant experience in the clinical management of children (including those with neuro-developmental, emotional, behavioural and attachment difficulties), child protection, and adult health issues pertinent to parenting.Completed significant years of medical work (either continuous period or in aggregate) since obtaining a primary medical qualificationKnowledge and participation in CPD.Able to apply knowledge.Meet the requirement of the GMC's "Good Medical Practice".Experience of NHS and knowledge of the management and structure of the NHS.What We Offer
