We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Child Mental Health Therapist to join our Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) team at Whittington Health NHS Trust. The successful candidate will work closely with children, families, and carers to provide high-quality therapeutic services.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified clinician to contribute to the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in Islington. The role involves working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing assessments, interventions, and consultations to support the needs of service users and their families.

Main Responsibilities
  • Undertake comprehensive assessments of children's mental health needs, including risk assessments and crisis intervention.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, working collaboratively with families and other professionals.
  • Provide consultation and advice to colleagues, referral agencies, and services responsible for the care and support of service users and their families.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • Postgraduate/doctoral level qualification in clinical psychology, counselling psychology, family and systemic psychotherapy, or child and adolescent psychotherapy, recognized by HCPC/DOH/UKCP/ACP or other relevant professional bodies.
  • Minimum 1 year of post-qualifying experience in working with children and families, preferably in a community-based setting.
Salary Information

The estimated salary for this role is between £38,694 and £51,917 per annum, dependent on experience, plus additional allowances and benefits. We offer a competitive salary package, as well as opportunities for career development and professional growth.
