Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Behavioural Support Specialist to join our team at Prospero Teaching, working with children and young people who require person-centred support.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that requires delivering tailored support to individuals with complex needs and challenging behaviours associated with learning disabilities, autistic spectrum conditions, and mental health problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • To provide person-centred support to young people in need, promoting their emotional well-being and self-esteem.
  • To develop and implement behaviour support plans, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive outcomes.
  • To maintain accurate records of interventions, progress, and outcomes.
  • To participate in regular training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Relevant experience working with children and young people with challenging behaviour.
  • De-escalation training desirable, but not essential.
  • Youth work or similar backgrounds considered.
  • Confidence to make decisions and take initiative.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Empathy and understanding in working with vulnerable populations.
