About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Band 6 Community Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at the Ministry of Defence (Defence Medical Services). The successful candidate will be working autonomously within a multi-disciplinary team to provide a specialised occupational mental health service for all Service and entitled personnel.

Main Responsibilities

  • Providing initial assessment and formulation of mental health and treatment needs for referred patients.
  • Delivering evidence-based interventions for mental health problems, including individual, group and tele-therapy.
  • Facilitating emergency patient assessment and performing clinical risk assessments.
  • Maintaining accurate and contemporaneous records of patient contact.

Requirements

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council or Health and Care Professions Council.
  • Nurse (Mental Health) qualification with demonstrable experience working at Band 5 or above.
  • Substantial post-qualification training and experience in evidence-based psychological therapies.
