Interpreting Role in Scotland with Flexible Working Hours

We are seeking a skilled freelancer to provide interpreting services across various settings, including healthcare, local authorities, and the police. As a freelance interpreter with Language Empire, you will work on a self-employed basis, offering flexible working hours to fit your schedule.

The role involves listening to and understanding content in one language, then accurately reproducing it into another. You will interpret for individuals using legal, health, and local government services, ensuring that non-English speakers understand important information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret between languages in various settings
  • Check understanding after each sentence
  • Conference, consecutive, and public service interpreting
  • Liaise between service users and providers

Requirements:

  • Fluency in English and another language
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Age 21 or over
  • Formal qualifications in translation, interpreting, or languages (advantageous)
