Accounting Assistant Role

A specialist services company is seeking a highly motivated and organized Accounting Assistant to join their expanding finance team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the purchase ledger, including posting invoices, reconciling supplier statements, and resolving queries. They will also assist with sales ledger, billing, credit control, cash handling, and banking tasks.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in financial management and contribute to the company's growth. The successful candidate will be rewarded with a competitive salary of £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Job Description:

The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Purchase Ledger: Post invoices, reconcile supplier statements, and resolve queries.
  • Sales Ledger: Assist with new contract billing, installing schedules, and issuing sales invoices.
  • Cash Handling: Count cash, maintain the cashbook, process cheques, and bank payments.
  • Credit Control: Monitor and manage customer payments.
Requirements:
  • Financial Experience: Proven skills in end-to-end purchase ledger, sales ledger, billing, credit control, and reconciliations.
  • Team Player: Collaborative attitude, willingness to learn new tasks, and excellent communication skills.
  • Qualifications: AAT studier/qualified and/or degree in Accountancy & Finance (desirable).
