University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is a centre of excellence for ophthalmic care in the East Midlands. We are seeking a motivated Band 7 Specialist Optometrist to join our Ophthalmology team, bringing their expertise and enthusiasm to provide high-quality patient care.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with consultants in various sub-specialties within Ophthalmology, delivering comprehensive eye care services. The postholder will be responsible for developing and implementing individualised management and treatment plans, working alongside other clinical members of the Ophthalmology Specialty.
The estimated salary for this position is £65,000 - £85,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include opportunities for professional development, flexible working arrangements, and a supportive team environment.
Responsibilities:- To work closely with the ophthalmology team to deliver high-quality optometric services to patients.
- To formulate individualised management and treatment plans, making onward referral to other clinical members of the Ophthalmology Specialty as necessary.
- To maintain accurate patient records, adhering to the highest standards of confidentiality and data protection.
- A BSc Hons degree in Optometry and registration with the General Optical Council.
- Minimum 2 years of advanced practice experience in ophthalmic care.
- Evidence of independent prescribing or willingness to undergo training.
