The Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Children's Nurse to join their team as a Senior Paediatric Oncology Nurse Specialist. This rewarding opportunity will enable you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people with cancer, while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

As a Senior Paediatric Oncology Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating specialist nursing care for designated caseloads of children and young people with cancer. Your expertise will contribute significantly to the development of children's oncology services within the Regional Cancer Network, Children's Macmillan Service, and the Diana Children's Community Service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with colleagues in the multidisciplinary oncology team at Regional Oncology Treatment Centres to coordinate care for children and young people with cancer.
  • Maintain close contacts with identified children and young people on the caseload by visiting them at home and in hospital to ensure continuity of care across all settings that the child visits.
  • Expand knowledge and practice in the field of oncology to ensure care is responsive to the child's needs.
  • Attend weekly MDT meetings in UHL and weekly liaise with other referral centres.
  • Act as a resource for paediatric palliative care in the hospital and community.
