Job Description

The Internal Chemicals & Chromatography Sales Specialist role at Avantor is a challenging opportunity to drive revenue growth and contribute to the company's success.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced sales professional to join our team. As an Internal Chemicals & Chromatography Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for increasing revenue and profit by achieving IOP targets in our Chemicals & Chromatography portfolio.

You will work closely with the field-based Business Development and Account Management Teams to achieve sales & margin targets for VWR UK Chemicals & Chromatography business.

Main Responsibilities
  • Achieve IOP for sales and margin in our Chemicals & Chromatography portfolio
  • Proactively sell product ranges, including cross-selling other products and services
  • Provide technical product support to customers and VWR colleagues
  • Create, negotiate, and follow up quotations
  • Source new products and manage the market source/TPP workflow
  • Participate in tenders and large product lists for quotation, finding products and answering technical requirements
  • Establish relationships with suppliers to ensure the best technical and price support for VWR
  • Provide manager with up-to-date reports on sales activities and issues
  • Send samples when requested from customers or through quotations or tenders
  • Order, register, and follow up demo products according to the demo unit management process
  • Send out catalogues, brochures, promotions & manage through C4C
  • Liaise with local, Regional & European counterparts within the Chemicals & Chromatography business teams and marketing teams
  • Participate in supplier trainings and meetings
  • Develop and follow up on ZPSP request opportunities with suppliers and the internal ZPSP workflow
  • Create and follow up new product code set up via ZMMDESEIGN
  • Support the sales teams with marketing campaigns
  • Monitor competitors and market trends within dedicated product portfolios and build market intelligence
  • Participate in customer visits, exhibitions, events, and other marketing activities if required
  • Support manager in developing a sales forecast for your portfolio of products as needed
  • Update all relevant customer interactions on our CRM system C4C
  • Regular communication with the local sales organisation, highlighting the performance of the product portfolio
  • In conjunction with Manager, set own goals and take ownership of same as per VWR PMP process
  • Participation in local sales training and meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Degree level qualification essential (Science and/or Business discipline)
  • Previous external/internal sales experience required
  • Proven track record in achieving targets

As a successful candidate, you will have a strong commercial understanding and knowledge of the market, the competition, pricing, and discount structures. You will also possess excellent time management and multi-tasking capabilities, as well as being self-motivated and focused.

Benefits

Avantor offers a competitive salary of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off. We also offer opportunities for career growth and development.
