Chemical Sales Specialist

The Internal Chemicals & Chromatography Sales Specialist role at Avantor is a challenging opportunity to drive revenue growth and contribute to the company's success.
About the RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced sales professional to join our team. As an Internal Chemicals & Chromatography Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for increasing revenue and profit by achieving IOP targets in our Chemicals & Chromatography portfolio.
You will work closely with the field-based Business Development and Account Management Teams to achieve sales & margin targets for VWR UK Chemicals & Chromatography business.
Main Responsibilities- Achieve IOP for sales and margin in our Chemicals & Chromatography portfolio
- Proactively sell product ranges, including cross-selling other products and services
- Provide technical product support to customers and VWR colleagues
- Create, negotiate, and follow up quotations
- Source new products and manage the market source/TPP workflow
- Participate in tenders and large product lists for quotation, finding products and answering technical requirements
- Establish relationships with suppliers to ensure the best technical and price support for VWR
- Provide manager with up-to-date reports on sales activities and issues
- Send samples when requested from customers or through quotations or tenders
- Order, register, and follow up demo products according to the demo unit management process
- Send out catalogues, brochures, promotions & manage through C4C
- Liaise with local, Regional & European counterparts within the Chemicals & Chromatography business teams and marketing teams
- Participate in supplier trainings and meetings
- Develop and follow up on ZPSP request opportunities with suppliers and the internal ZPSP workflow
- Create and follow up new product code set up via ZMMDESEIGN
- Support the sales teams with marketing campaigns
- Monitor competitors and market trends within dedicated product portfolios and build market intelligence
- Participate in customer visits, exhibitions, events, and other marketing activities if required
- Support manager in developing a sales forecast for your portfolio of products as needed
- Update all relevant customer interactions on our CRM system C4C
- Regular communication with the local sales organisation, highlighting the performance of the product portfolio
- In conjunction with Manager, set own goals and take ownership of same as per VWR PMP process
- Participation in local sales training and meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Degree level qualification essential (Science and/or Business discipline)
- Previous external/internal sales experience required
- Proven track record in achieving targets
As a successful candidate, you will have a strong commercial understanding and knowledge of the market, the competition, pricing, and discount structures. You will also possess excellent time management and multi-tasking capabilities, as well as being self-motivated and focused.
BenefitsAvantor offers a competitive salary of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off. We also offer opportunities for career growth and development.
