**Job Description:**

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Critical Environment Sales Specialist Lead to join our team at Avantor. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth and profitability by supporting our field-based Product Specialists and Account Management Teams in achieving sales & margin targets for VWR UK Critical Environment & Safety business.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To consistently achieve Individual Operational Plan (IOP) for sales and margin in our Critical Environment & Safety portfolio
  • To proactively sell our product ranges, including cross-selling other products and services
  • To provide technical product support to customers and VWR colleagues
  • To create, negotiate, and follow up quotations
  • To source new products and manage the market source/TPP workflow
  • To participate in tenders and large product lists for quotation, finding products and answering technical requirements
  • To establish relationships with suppliers to ensure best technical and price support for VWR
  • To provide Manager with up-to-date reports on sales activities and issues
  • To send samples when requested from customers or through quotations or tenders
  • To order, register, and follow up demo products according to the demo unit management process
  • To send out catalogues, brochures, promotions, and manage through Athena
  • To liaise with local, Regional & Global counterparts within the Critical Environment & Safety business teams and marketing teams
  • To participate in supplier trainings and meetings
  • To develop and follow up on ZPSP request opportunities with suppliers and the internal ZPSP workflow
  • To create and follow up new product code set up via ZMMDESEIGN
  • To support the sales teams with marketing campaigns
  • To monitor competitors and market trends within dedicated product portfolios and build market intelligence
  • To participate in customer visits, exhibitions, events, and other marketing activities (4-5 times a year)
  • To support your manager in developing sales forecasts for your portfolio of products as required
  • To update all relevant customer interactions on our CRM system C4C
  • To regular communication with the local sales organisation, highlighting the performance of the product portfolio
  • In conjunction with Manager, set own goals and take ownership of same as per VWR PMP process
  • Participation in local sales training and meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Degree-level qualification essential (Science and/or Business discipline)
  • Previous external/internal sales experience preferred but not essential
  • Proven track record in achieving targets preferred but not essential

  • Good product knowledge, ability to learn quickly, and maintain updated knowledge of products and market
  • Self-motivated, focused, and driven individual who can handle rejection positively
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong commercial understanding and knowledge of the market, competition within, pricing, and discount structures
  • Passion for liaising with internal and external customers and suppliers/manufacturers, a strong team player
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement, both strategically and operationally, sourcing, market analysis, cost analysis, contract negotiation, and supplier performance level service agreements/performance metrics
  • Keen awareness of profitability metrics and steps to maximise same
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking capabilities
  • Self-starter, proactive individual, works on own initiative with minimal supervision
  • Confident in own decision-making abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player, can deputise for colleagues when required
  • IT Literate, proficient in the use of SAP, C4C, QlikView, and MS Office applications

Estimated Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum
