This exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Assistant Practitioner to join our Community Therapy Team in St Helens.

Main Duties:

  • Provide specialist assistance in delivering physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and rehabilitation services to adults referred to St Helens Community Therapy Services.
  • Contribute to the development of this role within the Community Unit.

Requirements:

  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a relevant area.
  • Theoretical and practical training to NVQ 3 level in a relevant area.
  • Experience and/or further education in a relevant field to diploma level or equivalent.
  • Basic competency training and skills in mobility assessment, progression of mobility, stair assessment, gym classes, passive, and active assisted movement, stretches, balance work, individual exercise programs.
  • Experience in a therapy department including work with elderly patients.
  • Word processing skills.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Demonstrates a good knowledge of the roles of the Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with falls management and prevention.

Working Environment:

This is a community-based post, requiring the ability to travel between visits.

Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience.
