Job Title: Aviation Safety and Quality Manager

About the Role:

The Aviation Safety and Quality Manager will be responsible for the efficient and effective management of Airbus Helicopters' Aviation Safety and Quality Departments' Quality Safety Management Systems across the breadth of AHUK's approval base.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, including the UK CAA, EASA, and FAA, to ensure compliance with aviation regulations.
  • Oversee the Design, Production, Maintenance, Training, and CAMO Approvals, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the Quality Management System (ISO 9001, EN9100, 9110, 9120, and AQAP 2110) to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Develop and deliver a risk-based audit program to cover all regulatory requirements, ensuring timely and effective implementation.
  • Ensure non-conformities and non-compliances are addressed in a timely manner, verifying corrective actions.
  • Assess and act upon sub-contractor and contracting company evaluations.
  • Ensure supplier assessments are conducted and acted upon.
  • Notify the Accountable Manager of discrepancies, regulatory changes, quality escapes, and notifiable findings that affect AHUK.
  • Maintain records of training and experience for maintenance, pilots, and design employees, ensuring correct issuance and control of authorizations.
  • Amend and monitor the Quality Manual, expositions, handbooks, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Control and maintain the Company document control system.
  • Ensure audits by customers and NAA regulators demonstrate a high level of compliance, with findings addressed within prescribed time requirements.
  • Lead a team of Quality Auditors, delegating responsibilities and ensuring they are competent and authorized.

Requirements:

  • Considerable experience in the aviation industry, specifically in aircraft Design, Production, and Maintenance.
  • Extensive experience as a Form 4 holder Quality Manager, previously accepted by the UK CAA.
  • Good knowledge of Civil and Military Aviation, Design, Production & Maintenance, with a greater than standard knowledge of regulations and the ISO 9100 suite.
  • Attention to detail, with an investigative and enquiring mindset.
  • Lead Auditor training and a comprehensive track record in successful delivery.
  • Knowledge of budget and financial planning.
  • Proven track record of managing a team.

Desirable:

  • The ability to change approach and offer alternative solutions, with a general sense of optimism.
