Job Overview

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a leading healthcare provider in the country, offering a wide range of clinical services and medical education opportunities. As a key member of the Clinical Governance Department, the Director of Quality Improvement Initiatives will work closely with senior management to drive the Trust's strategic goals.

The ideal candidate will have a clinical background, excellent organisational skills, and a strong understanding of Clinical Governance principles. They will be responsible for managing clinical quality improvement programmes, monitoring progress, and reporting to relevant Trust committees.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the production of the Annual Quality Account and programme of associated Quality Priorities
  • Setting up and monitoring the CQUIN or equivalent programme
  • Line managing a designated part of the Clinical Governance Team
  • Organising the administration and supporting the Chair of the Technologies Appraisal Group

The successful candidate will be passionate about improving patient safety systems and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be conversant with the NHS Patient Safety Strategy and have prior experience in the NHS, which is highly desirable.

Salary: The estimated salary for this role is £65,000-£80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
