Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Specialist to join our team in Gloucester. As a key member of our 2nd line team, you will be responsible for delivering excellent technical support to our clients, using the latest technologies to deliver an interconnected on-premises technology solution.

Key Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Technical Support: Providing technical support for a Windows desktop solution, including fixing and problem/defect root cause analysis.
  • Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Management: Managing virtual desktop infrastructures hosted within Citrix XenDesktop.
  • Patch Management: Testing and releasing Windows desktop security patches.
  • Automated Builds: Creating and maintaining Windows desktop automated builds (MDT & SCCM).
  • AD Group Policy Management: Maintaining AD Group Policies.
  • Customer Support: Handling customer problems promptly.
  • On-Call Rota: Taking part in a 24 x 7 call-out rota and working some evenings and weekends if necessary.

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Understanding of Patch Management: Understanding of patch management and ability to deploy patches.
  • Technical Skills: Experience in MS Exchange, VMWare, Citrix VDI, Remote access/VPNs, Windows Server 2019/22 (AD/GPO/PowerShell) and Windows 10.
  • Networking Knowledge: Understanding of computer networks.
  • Security Awareness: Understanding of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, and IDPS concepts.
  • ITIL V4: ITIL V4 certification.

Desirable Skills: It would be great if you had:

  • CCA-V / CCA-P: CCA-V / CCA-P certification.
  • Windows 10 Support: Experience supporting & upgrading Windows 10 Operating Systems.
  • App-V Experience: Experience supporting App-V packages and Full App-V Infrastructure.
  • Software Packaging: Software packaging and deployment experience.
  • MS MECM: Experience with MS MECM.
  • UE-V Administration: UE-V Administration experience.
