We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Specialist to join our team in Gloucester. As a key member of our 2nd line team, you will be responsible for delivering an interconnected on-premises technology solution using the latest technologies.

This is a fantastic opportunity to progress your career and work with a wide variety of roles for new and existing programmes with our clients in the Aerospace, Defence and Security sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for a Windows desktop solution, including fixing and problem/defect root cause analysis.
  • Manage virtual desktop infrastructures hosted within Citrix XenDesktop.
  • Test and release Windows desktop security patches.
  • Creation and maintenance of Windows desktop automated builds (MDT & SCCM).
  • Maintenance of AD Group Policies.
  • Handle customer problems promptly.
  • Participate in a 24 x 7 call-out rota and work some evenings and weekends if necessary.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of patch management and ability to deploy patches.
  • Experience in MS Exchange, VMWare, Citrix VDI, Remote access/VPNs, Windows Server 2019/22 (AD/GPO/PowerShell) and Windows 10.
  • Understanding of computer networks.
  • Understanding of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, and IDPS concepts.
  • ITIL V4.
