We are seeking a skilled Cook/Kitchen Staff Member to join our team at RhynoCare Staffing Solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and menu plans, ensuring all standards are met.
- Assist with meal serving, respecting residents' food preferences.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper food storage and handling.
- Collaborate with the Food and Nutrition Manager to control food costs, waste, and ordering.
- Monitor kitchen inventory and communicate with relevant teams to coordinate supply ordering.
- Ensure compliance with Public Health and Ministry of Long Term Care regulations.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
- Assist with special events and catering as required.
Requirements
- Successful completion or enrollment in a Food Service Worker Program meeting Ontario Long-Term Care Homes Act requirements.
- Chef/Cook Certification from a recognized community college, preferably Red Seal certification.
- Hold a valid Food Handler's Certificate and maintain it up-to-date.
- Prior experience in a Long Term Care setting or with seniors is desirable, but equivalent experience in institutions, healthcare, restaurants, or hospitality is accepted.
- Provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination in accordance with the Ontario Ministry of Long-Term Care's Long-term care home COVID-19 immunization policy.
- Must be physically able to handle the demands of the position, including lifting, bending, working in varying temperatures, and maintaining hand hygiene.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability within a team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) in English.
Compensation
$45,000 - $60,000 per year
