Job Title: Markets Estates Surveyor

City Property Glasgow is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chartered Surveyor to join our team as a Markets Estates Surveyor. This exciting opportunity will see you working closely with our Markets Team at the Wholesale Fruit Market in Blochairn.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Markets Manager in the management and enhancement of the Blochairn Market portfolio, ensuring all lease obligations are met.
  • Review expenditure, recharges, and maximise income across wholesale and retail operations.
  • Provide expert professional advice on landlord and tenant matters, including rent reviews, lease renewals, and rent arrears.
  • Lead general estates management initiatives and participate in asset management tasks and general queries.
  • Prepare budgets for key estates and ensure accurate information reflects expected costs.
  • Monitor and control income and expenditure associated with assigned property portfolios, liaising with property agents and tenants on rent reviews, lease renewals, and agency matters.
  • Collaborate with City Property stakeholders, Glasgow City Council, and partners to share knowledge, experience, and procedures.
  • Create and monitor service charge budgets, including adjustments and journals as required.
  • Deliver accurate management and Committee reports, providing specialist professional advice and recommendations.
  • Monitor budget performance and provide reports for senior management.
  • Develop an excellent working knowledge of the portfolio.
  • Manage a demanding workload and ensure key tasks are carried out professionally and effectively.
  • Deputise for the Markets Manager.
  • Ensure Health and Safety and risk management procedures are understood and adhered to.
  • Provide standby cover for operational requirements during out-of-hours incidents.
