Estate Management Specialist

NHS Scotland is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Estates Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Estates Department, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient operation of our estates services, systems, and budgetary resources.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in estate management, with a focus on delivering patient care through the provision of safe and effective operation and maintenance of estates services. You will be responsible for managing a team of professionals and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and mandatory NHS healthcare standards and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and maintain operational on-call systems
- Ensure delivery of statutory compliance and effective repairs through the management of FM First PPM and reactive maintenance systems
- Specialist technical knowledge for 'Authorised Person' responsibilities, including medical gas pipe systems, pressure systems, water systems, ventilation systems, high and low voltage electrical systems, management of asbestos, passenger lifts, and patient lifting aids
- Develop and implement effective maintenance strategies to ensure the optimal performance of estates services
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address estate-related issues and opportunities
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong academic background in a relevant subject, such as building services engineering or a related field. You will also need to have significant experience working in a healthcare or industrial/commercial building services environment, with a focus on estate management and maintenance.
In addition, you will need to be an Incorporated Engineer member of a registered engineering or building institute, such as the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineering or the Institute of Electrical Engineers.
