Academics Ltd: Mental Health Assistant Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Graduate to work as a SEN Teaching Assistant in our Oxford-based SEMH School. This is an outstanding opportunity for anyone looking to build their experience working with children who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs.

The successful candidate will be supporting children aged 4-11 with behaviour and mental health issues on a full-time basis, starting ASAP. The ideal candidate will have a Degree in Psychology, Counselling or Criminology, although other subjects will also be considered.

This role offers the chance to work alongside trained therapists, counsellors and psychologists, providing invaluable experience and mentorship opportunities.

The SEMH School is committed to providing high-quality child-centred support, and we are looking for someone who can bring enthusiasm, passion and resilience to the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs
  • Work alongside trained therapists and psychologists
  • Mentorship and training opportunities available

Requirements:

  • Graduate degree in Psychology, Counselling or Criminology (or similar field)
  • Experience working with children with Complex Needs (desirable)
  • Level 3 qualifications+ required
