Job Description

As a Mental Health Social Work Professional with Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to patients in need. Your expertise will help shape the social care perspective in our forensic mental health In-patient setting, ensuring service users receive tailored support and guidance throughout their recovery journey.

Main Responsibilities
  • To lead on safeguarding issues, Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) referrals, and attend MAPPA meetings where required to present cases and discuss patients.
  • To compile both non-statutory and statutory reports, including CPA Reports, Social History and Needs Reports, and Social Circumstances Reports for Mental Health Tribunals and Hospital Managers' Hearings.
  • To contribute to the development of the Care Programme Approach, ensuring patient-centred programmes of care/interventions are implemented effectively.
  • To work closely with partner organisations and the wider MDT to ensure risk is managed effectively and discharge planning is facilitated in collaboration with patients and their families.
  • To demonstrate the skills to maintain your Social Work professional identity and ability to assert the social perspective when working within an inpatient environment.
