Academics Ltd is seeking a highly motivated Mental Health Support Assistant to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for graduates in Psychology, Counselling or Criminology to gain valuable experience working with children aged 4-11 who have Social and Emotional Mental Health Needs.

This role involves providing support to students with complex needs, including behaviour and mental health issues. The successful candidate will work closely with trained therapists, counsellors and psychologists to develop strategies to support student well-being. A degree in Psychology, Counselling or Criminology is desirable, but not essential. Graduates with relevant experience will also be considered.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, patience, and empathy. They will be proactive, adaptable, and able to use their own initiative to support students. Resilience and confidence to work with challenging behaviour are essential.

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in pursuing a career in education, psychology or therapeutic support. You will gain invaluable experience working with Special Needs and Mental Health issues, as well as being mentored by experienced professionals.

The successful candidate will be based in Oxford and will work full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm. The salary range for this position is £80-£95 per day, depending on experience.
