Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled External Engagement and Policy Officer to join our team at the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Kent. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and developing the Commissioner's website, ensuring it is up-to-date and effective in promoting the Commissioner's work. Additionally, they will work closely with the Head of Corporate Communications and Strategy to develop policy in line with the Commissioner's Police and Crime Plan. The ideal candidate will have excellent research skills, a creative mindset, and the ability to draft press releases and policy accurately.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and develop the Commissioner's website to ensure it is a valuable resource for the public.
Collaborate with the Head of Corporate Communications and Strategy to develop policy that aligns with the Commissioner's Police and Crime Plan.
Conduct research and provide creative solutions to support the Commissioner's work.
Draft press releases and policy documents that effectively communicate the Commissioner's message.

Working Environment:

This role will involve working from home, the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner in Maidstone, and attending events across the county. The successful candidate will be subject to vetting and will be required to adhere to the Local Government and Housing Act 1989.
