About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Brachytherapy Specialist to join our team at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality brachytherapy treatment to our patients.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the Brachytherapy service, streamlining the patient journey and implementing solutions to anticipate and resolve problems.
  • Develop clinical practice, provide expert advice, and disseminate knowledge to the radiotherapy team, Oncology Centre Trust, and nationally.
  • Lead a team of radiotherapists within the Brachytherapy unit, ensuring treatments are performed according to trust and department policy in a quality environment.
  • Ensure working practices align with the centre's strategic plan and meet professional and locally agreed standards, providing a multi-disciplinary approach to service development and provision.

About the Team

You will be part of a team that provides radiotherapy services at Maidstone Hospital and Kent & Canterbury Hospital, with brachytherapy services provided at Maidstone Hospital. We offer advanced technology, including the insertion of fiducials and Spaceoar, gynaecological HDR, prostate LDR & HDR, and are currently developing interstitial gynaecology.

Key Requirements

  • Qualified to DCR(T) or BSc Radiotherapy, with HCPC registration as a Radiographer.
  • Postgraduate education at M level or equivalent, with evidence of leadership training.
  • Previous management experience, with a range of clinical experience and a background in Brachytherapy.
  • Experience in gynaecological or prostate Brachytherapy, with knowledge of the Brachytherapy pathway.
  • Ability to work under pressure, lead by example, and drive service development.
