Continence Care Expert for Children

County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Continence Care Expert for Children to join our multidisciplinary team. This challenging yet rewarding role involves working closely with children, young people, and their families to address bladder and bowel problems.
The estimated salary for this position is £45,000 - £65,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
About the Role:This exciting opportunity offers a chance to contribute to improving the lives of children and families affected by bladder and bowel issues. As a Continence Care Expert for Children, you will be responsible for providing specialist assessment, advice, care, and education to children and their families. You will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans and care pathways that cater to individual needs.
Key responsibilities include providing specialist nursing care, developing treatment plans, supporting junior staff, and delivering expert clinical care. Strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of children's continence issues, and the ability to travel independently are essential for this role.
Key Skills and Qualifications:- Leadership skills
- Specialist knowledge of children's continence issues
- Ability to manage a caseload, including outpatient clinics
- Experience delivering education sessions for a variety of audiences
- Previous experience within a specialist nurse role or outpatient/community team
The ideal candidate should possess a Health-related/Nursing Diploma and have advanced/post-registration education and/or experience in continence issues. Recent experience in continence care is desirable, as is research training and non-medical prescriber qualifications.
