About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Disaster Response Coordinator to support our Joint Emergency Planning Unit (JEPU) in Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils.

As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting our emergency planning activities and ensuring that we are well-prepared to respond to emergencies.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including developing emergency plans, conducting risk assessments, and providing technical advice to stakeholders.

This is a full-time, fixed-term or secondment opportunity for 2 years, offering a competitive salary of £27,500 - £31,300 per annum (pro rata for part-time).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and implementation of emergency plans and procedures;
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations for mitigation strategies;
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to stakeholders on emergency planning and response;
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure effective emergency planning and response;
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in emergency planning.
