About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to children and young people facing mental health challenges in Hampshire.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide recovery-focused interventions to address complex care needs for children and young people receiving therapy
  • Work collaboratively with families and the network to develop daily activities promoting social inclusion and supporting organisational commitment
  • Support the development of autonomy and empowerment for young people and families in receipt of CAMHS services
  • Contribute to the multi-disciplinary team of CAMHS professionals in providing targeted recovery-focused interventions
  • Work under the guidance of an allocated clinician to provide time-limited task and goal-focused recovery interventions
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care and skills acquired through experience OR equivalent levels of experience or training working in a health or social care setting
  • Experience of working with people with mental health needs in a paid or voluntary capacity
  • Experience of working as part of a team
  • Experience of being supervised
  • Experience of analysing and communicating complex information verbally and in writing
  • Experience of working in community settings
