Parkinson's Device Therapies Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Specialist to join our team at the Complex Therapies Advanced Treatment Centre, Southmead Hospital.

About the Role:

This exciting opportunity involves working with patients with Parkinson's disease, providing expert care and management in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. As a Device Assisted Therapy nurse, you will be responsible for co-ordinating and participating in the delivery of a new NICE-approved non-oral treatment, working closely with consultants and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.

The ideal candidate will have significant post-registration experience (more than 5 years) and possess excellent communication and organisational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. A recognised teaching qualification is also desirable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To coordinate and participate in the delivery of Device Assisted Therapy treatment for patients with Parkinson's disease.
  • To contribute to patient selection, initiation of treatment, and ongoing management needs while receiving Pro-Duodopa Therapy.
  • To take responsibility for the management of patients on treatment, working closely with consultants and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements:
  • RGN registration with current live Registration.
  • Significant post-registration experience (more than 5 years).
  • Recognised teaching qualification.
Working Environment:

You will be working in a highly specialist movement disorder team at Southmead Hospital, with access to state-of-the-art facilities and equipment. The hospital is committed to delivering high-quality patient care and offers a supportive and collaborative working environment.

Estimated Salary:

£34,000 - £43,041 per annum, depending on experience.
