About the Role

This exciting opportunity is for a newly created post to provide clinical leadership to the Community Parkinson's Practitioner Service across Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire.


The post holder will be key in the continued development of this role and service, acting as a fundamental resource for the team and working closely with system partners in health, social care, and the VCSE sector.



Job Summary

The Specialist Parkinson's Practitioner service provides high-quality specialist advice and support for individuals with Parkinson's disease.



Main Duties

  • Assessing, planning, implementing, and monitoring care for people with Parkinson's disease.
  • Developing person-centred care plans based on best practices and evidence.
  • Providing specialist advice and support to patients, families, and healthcare professionals involved in their care.
  • Leading the development of the Parkinson's service to ensure it remains effective, safe, and sustainable.
  • Providing psychological and emotional support to patients and their families, especially during high-stress situations or when managing changes in the patient's condition.
  • Contributing to clinical governance, audit, and research activities, including supporting clinical trials and ensuring the latest evidence-based practices are applied.
