Job Title: Program Development Specialist

The estimated annual salary for this position is $65,000.

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Program Development Specialist to join our team at Chicago Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating an environment that promotes student learning and development through the implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and monitor PBIS programs to promote positive student behavior and academic achievement.
  • Develop and implement advisory curriculum in conjunction with Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) initiatives.
  • Deliver staff development training on PBIS and SEL programs to ensure effective implementation and support.
  • Develop and implement peer mediation councils to foster conflict resolution skills among students.
  • Engage in daily phone calls and home visits with chronically absent students and their families to encourage regular attendance.
  • Design and implement incentives to motivate students towards improved attendance.
  • Participate in the attendance task force to drive district-wide initiatives.

Education and Experience:

  • A college degree in Public Administration, Education, or a related Human Services field.
  • Previous experience working in a school setting or with adolescents.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of students and the school community.
  • Experience with Guided Discipline and PBIS approaches to student support.
