Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Power System Specialist to join our team at CITIC Pacific Mining Management in Western Australia. This is a permanent opportunity with an 8/6 roster, FIFO ex Perth.

About the Role

This role involves providing engineering advice, expertise, and guidelines for commissioning, operation, and maintenance of power systems in accordance with regulations, Australian Standards, and industrial practice.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Operation support, preventive maintenance, system or equipment modification, and technical document preparation.
  2. Asset regular inspection, spare parts management, review equipment operation parameters, and monitoring inspection data.
  3. Develop activities, procedures, acceptance inspection criteria, and budget for inspection and maintenance.
  4. Schedule equipment maintenance and overhaul, develop scope of work for outsourced contracts.
  5. Provide technical guidance and support as required, participate in acceptance inspections, and develop process optimization and performance improvement strategies.
Requirements
  1. A current WA Driver's Licence is essential.
  2. An Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent with at least 2 years' experience in an engineering environment involved in Power System design, commissioning, operation, and maintenance.
  3. Sound knowledge of electrical engineering, electrical system operation, protection, and control.
  4. Professional knowledge of generators, transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, electric motors, VSDs, CTs, PTs, protection relays, etc.
  5. Familiarity with operation procedures, periodic inspection and testing items and criteria, maintenance and overhaul procedures, and acceptance inspection criteria of the aforementioned equipment.
  6. Familiarity with asset management, using relevant asset management software (SAP).
  7. Relevant knowledge of Australian Standards/Practices and statutory requirements relating to the position.
