Job Description

As an Aero Pre-Sales Engineer at Viasat, you will play a critical role in identifying customer problems and proposing competitively advantageous solutions using our cutting-edge products and services. You will work closely with sales teams, partners, and end-users to define, shape, and understand technical requirements, steering customers towards Viasat's unique differentiators.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet and exceed assigned targets for profitable sales (revenue and bookings)
  • Act as the technical face of Viasat to end-users and partners, using our technology differentiation and compelling vision of the future to help set the brand preference for Viasat
  • Work with sales teams, partners, and end-users to define, shape, and understand technical requirements, steering customers towards Viasat's unique differentiators
  • Develop new solutions to meet emerging market requirements, including identifying new industry partners to work with
  • Provide excellent technical support for customer demonstrations, trials, and opportunities, assisting technical teams to test, troubleshoot, and solve problems
  • Deliver written technical content for proposals and costings for professional services to the sales and commercial teams for customer proposal inclusion
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations on integrated solutions, articulating benefits to customers
  • Provide in-depth technical workshops to partners and end-users, including live demonstrations and hands-on training sessions
  • Will be recognized in the broader industry as a leader in their field, including representing Viasat at industry forums and giving presentations at industry events
  • Actively support STEM activities for the business, including the development of academic relationships
Requirements
  • Deep understanding of regional needs that are ever mindful of cost, budget, and cultural considerations
  • Proven experience of bringing products to market
  • Eligibility for Security Clearance in the UK
  • Work with customers, partners, and sales teams to define, understand, and shape technical solutions to meet or exceed end-user requirements
  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, able to multi-task, and work to deadlines
  • Flexible team player
  • Able to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers
  • Able to communicate at all levels, in particular technical solutions to customers, partners, and sales teams
  • Experience with our growing portfolio of products and services, including hosted leasing, aircraft installations, ground segment compatibility, and new hardware introduction with a focus on Government Aviation ISR (manned and unmanned) use-cases
  • Knowledge of aviation standards, such as airworthiness and Supplementary Type Certificate (STC)
  • IT literate in MS Office Word, Excel, etc
  • Reliable and hardworking
  • Self-motivated and flexible
  • Eligible to live and work in the UK

  • Experience working government/defense programs (large/complex) with direct customer interfaces, both internal and external, including industry partners
