Climate Impact Engineer

As a Climate Impact Engineer, you will play a vital role in automating the evaluation of carbon projects and helping organizations make effective investments in climate solutions. With your expertise, we can work towards societal net zero.
The team at Sylvera is comprised of leading minds in climate change from scientists to policy, finance, and carbon market experts. We collaborate with scientific organisations, universities, governments, and think tanks to develop rigorous and holistic ratings methodologies, leveraging the latest technology.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, build, and maintain backend systems to automate ratings creation processes
- Contribute to a culture where everyone feels empowered to challenge and learn from others
- Share knowledge with technical and non-technical stakeholders through demos
- Contribute to internal API development
- Connect data sources to our platform for easy consumption by customer apps
- Implement robust logging and alerting infrastructure
We're looking for an experienced Backend Engineer with foundational data knowledge who focuses on user experience, delights internal customers, and has experience building backend systems with a passion for creating a big impact.
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to learn about carbon offset projects and grow your skills in data engineering. Our tech stack includes Python, Terraform/AWS, SQL/dbt, and Snowflake.
