Job Description:

We are seeking a Student Support Coordinator to join our team at Potter Johnson. As a key member of the Exclusion department, you will provide crucial support and mentoring to students who require additional guidance. Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with students in an exclusion setting, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our students. You will work collaboratively with other staff members to develop plans tailored to individual student needs. This includes liaising with departments within the school and outside agencies as necessary. If you are passionate about supporting young people and have the skills to de-escalate challenging situations, we encourage you to apply for this position.

About the Role:

  • To provide one-to-one support and guidance to students in need.
  • Maintain a safe learning environment, minimizing disruption to teaching and learning.
  • Manage student conduct through positive reinforcement, adhering to school policies.
  • Liaise with other staff members to ensure effective support plans are put in place.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience working in a similar setting or a coaching/mentoring qualification.
  • Able to de-escalate difficult situations in a calm and professional manner.
  • Good understanding of personal health, safety, and welfare responsibilities.
  • Prioritize tasks efficiently and multitask effectively.
  • Hold a valid DBS or be willing to apply for one.

Working Arrangements:

This is a full-time position, and you will work across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
