Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and specialized Senior Clinical Perfusion Service to provide a wide range of patients in various departments across NHS Lothian and NHS Scotland with a highly skilled and specialized autonomous Senior Clinical Perfusion Service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinically manage and control the temporary replacement of a patient's cardiopulmonary function to enable cardiac surgery to take place.
  • Operate auxiliary equipment for the benefit of patient safety and the effectiveness of clinical outcome.
  • Mentor trainee clinical perfusionists and support junior perfusionists, participating fully in the development and training of the team.
  • Be responsible for research, development, evaluation and testing of new clinical equipment and procedures.

About the Role: As a Senior Clinical Perfusion Service, you will be responsible for providing a highly skilled and specialized autonomous Senior Clinical Perfusion Service to a wide range of patients in various departments across NHS Lothian and NHS Scotland. You will clinically manage and control the temporary replacement of a patient's cardiopulmonary function to enable cardiac surgery to take place, operate auxiliary equipment for the benefit of patient safety and the effectiveness of clinical outcome, mentor trainee clinical perfusionists and support junior perfusionists, and be responsible for research, development, evaluation and testing of new clinical equipment and procedures.
