Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Governance Specialist to join our team in NHS Scotland. As a key member of our organization, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening clinical governance and enhancing the quality of healthcare public health information.

About the Role

This is a permanent contract for part-time hours (3 days per week, 6 sessions/24 hours). The salary scale is £107,144 - £142,369. You will work as part of a team responsible for delivering a robust and consistent approach to timely review of Medical Certificates of Cause of Death. You will also develop effective relationships with stakeholders and provide support and education for certifying doctors across Scotland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a single system for independent, effective review of death certification to drive improvements in quality and accuracy.
  • Provide improved public health information and strengthen clinical governance.
  • Work as part of a team responsible for reviewing the accuracy of Medical Certificates of Cause of Death.
  • Develop effective relationships with and support a range of stakeholders.
  • Provide support and education for certifying doctors across Scotland.
Requirements

You will require to be a registered medical practitioner licensed by the General Medical Council with broad experience of working at a senior clinical level with direct knowledge of death certification. Your clinical background will be complimented by excellent interpersonal skills and evidence of supporting others with their professional development.
