The Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate teaching assistant to join our SEND provision team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and personal development of students with special educational needs and disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored learning activities for students with SEND.
- Provide one-on-one and group support to students, both in and out of the classroom.
- Support the classroom teacher in managing the learning environment and implementing individual education plans (IEPs).
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages student participation and confidence.
- Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
- Assist with personal care and mobility needs of students as required.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of SEND strategies within the school.
Requirements
- Experience working with children with SEND is essential.
- Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patient, empathetic, and genuinely passionate about supporting children with special needs.
- Able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Team Teach Trained desirable.
