We are looking for a highly skilled Assistant Head and SEND Support Specialist to join our team at Notre Dame Catholic Academy. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

About the Role

The Assistant Head and SEND Support Specialist will:

  • Support the Headteacher in leading the development of SEND policy and provision in the School
  • Be responsible for day-to-day operation of the SEND policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual students with SEND
  • Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff across the School, parents, and other agencies

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement strategies to improve outcomes for students with SEND
  2. Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to ensure effective implementation of SEND policies and procedures
  3. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEND provision, making recommendations for improvement

Requirements

  • Qualified teacher status as required under the SEND Code of Practice
  • National Award for SEN Co-ordination, or a willingness to complete it within 3 years of appointment as required under the SEND Code of Practice
  • Experience of working at a whole-school level

Salary

The estimated salary for this role is £63,815 - £70,293 per annum, depending on experience.
